Role Summary
The Supply Chain Senior Manager optimizes inventory and supply chain processes for our cannabis operations, ensuring state compliance and improving production and distribution efficiency. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory records, managing stock levels, fostering cross-departmental communication, and forecasting product demand. Focus on demand forecasting, inventory control, and efficient fulfillment, particularly in replacement and replenishment within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Record Management
- Maintain accurate records of the production and fulfillment processes, including tracking, auditing, and validating inventory counts of finished goods and work-in-progress.
- Manage the seed-to-sale software systems, oversee data entry, inventory tracking, and compliance reporting to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and generate reports on stock levels, discrepancies, and adjustments to resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with sales, and production teams to align inventory levels with forecasted demand and prevent overstocking or stockouts.
Supply Chain Coordination
- Oversee the supply chain from procurement to delivery, ensuring timely movement of goods and materials through production to sales.
- Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to streamline input delivery and ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders.
- Implement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce bottlenecks in the production process.
Demand Forecasting
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other factors to accurately predict future product demand using statistical methods and forecasting tools.
- Collaborate with production and inventory teams to ensure stock levels align with forecasts, preventing overstocking or stockouts.
- Continuously monitor and analyze sales data, market conditions, wholesale order trends, and customer behavior to refine forecasts, predict replenishment rates, and enhance inventory management.
- Generate reports on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and other key metrics for stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations based on the data.
Logistics Management
- Develop and oversee a logistics strategy to ensure rapid and efficient delivery of products to customers throughout New Jersey.
- Monitor and optimize logistics processes to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and minimize product returns.
- Select carriers and manage transportation routes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and finished goods.
Regulatory & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with all relevant cannabis regulations, reporting and internal controls, maintaining accurate inventory tracking and management in accordance with state laws.
- Generate regular reports on inventory levels, discrepancies, and compliance metrics to provide insights and ensure transparency in operations.
Interdepartmental Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between supply chain operations and other departments, including production, sales, marketing, and finance.
- Provide regular updates to executive management on supply chain performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Promote collaboration among team members to support seamless operations and effective problem-solving.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or inventory management; experience in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) or food and beverage industry is highly desirable; direct experience in the cannabis industry preferred.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience; 5 years preferred.
- Experience with demand planning and production scheduling.
- Familiarity with cannabis regulations and best practices in inventory management is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of seed to sale tracking systems (i.e., Metrc) and web-based B2B wholesale cannabis platforms (i.e., Leaf Trade, APEX).
- Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Google Sheets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data for strategic decision-making and process improvements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization.

- Must be at least 21 years old to comply with state regulations.
- Willingness to undergo background checks, fingerprinting and state ID badging.
- Must be able to obtain cannabis handler’s permissions as required by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJ CRC).
- Knowledge of cannabis regulations and compliance requirements within an evolving industry.
